Signature tune of the Mods, nice and
arrogant just like the Mods too.

Well it had to be right up there didn’t it?
In fact you could argue it should be number
one because of its status as the probable
major signature tune of the Mods, being nice
and arrogant just like the Mods too.
’Dressin’ fine makin’ time,
we breeze up and down the street,
we get respect from the people we meet,
they make way day or night.
They now the In Crowd is out of sight’.
HL 9953 released on the UK London American
label on 19th February in1965 and deleted
fairly rapidly.
It was quite rare and was in great demand.
It could be found in second hand shops and
deleted piles in record shops.
Significantly it was easy to obtain from USA
deleted postal auctions (advertised in the
UK music press magazines) and so became one
of the first imported vinyl 45’s on the
Manchester Soul scene!
