Latin Sound

South American Rhythms - Latin Jazz

It was Roger the DJ at the 'Old' Wheel in Brazenose street that first played South American influenced Jazz Soul. An instrumental from Cal Tjader 'Guachi Guaro' SOUL SAUCE became hugely popular in 65' and 66' at the Manchester club.

Soul Sauce was dutifully played at the Blue Note Club Manchester, and
eventually the track was picked up at other clubs eventually making its way into 'Northern Soul' history.

'Mas Que Nada' Sergio Mendez and Brazil 66' was also played but mainly at the Blue Note
